Cutter Bay sales signageThink community, sailing, and historic charm. That’s Cutter Bay. This unique community, featuring its own marina, honors the history and tradition of this area with planned amenities throughout the property. Bright Yellow Jacket was given the opportunity to develop the brand of this planned, gated community on the North Carolina coast. The developer’s desire was to create a visual identity that conveyed the simplicity and charm of the community that would resonate with the sailing lifestyle. With that development, BYJ has created the creative standard by which the marketing brochure, business system, advertising, sales materials and direct mail have followed.
Beachside sales signageBeachside. It just sounds relaxing. Actually, it’s one of the most popular places to relax. So, when a local land developer approached Bright Yellow Jacket to create a marketing presence for a new property on the Gulf Coast of Texas called Beachside, you better believe we were ready to get started. Creating a brand that conveyed coastal living was at the essence of our task. BYJ created the Beachside brand—the logo, business system and marketing book—establishing the standards used for all Beachside marketing materials. Sounds like an easy task? Well, let’s just say we did do a little research while wearing flops and sipping something fruity.
RuBiRu 2007 posterCrazy name. Excellent cause. In 2007, UNC Charlotte partnered with Bright Yellow Jacket to name and brand a community Run-Bike-Run amateur event at the university to support local brain cancer research. Thus was born, RuBiRu, a 20K event involving an exhilarating 5K run and 10K bike time trial. Along with the moniker, BYJ was responsible for the creation of the logo, website and all promotional materials. This year, UNC Charlotte has tapped BYJ again to continue building the RuBiRu brand.
Chets Creek banners Chets Creek is not for everybody; they don’t try to be. It’s a place for those who have grown tired of “church as usual” or for those who have had “a bad church experience.” A place for those who want to discover God at their own pace without feeling pushed or embarrassed. Chets Creek didn’t want their brand to say anything different. From marketing materials to bulletins – from the website to the logo on the church signage – they wanted the identity of the church to speak the same message. So, wherever you are on your spiritual journey or walk in life, check out Chets Creek. They just might be the church you’re looking for!

Trinity SouthPark signage Trinity Partners performs at the next level. They aim to provide a comprehensive range of commercial real estate services for office and industrial users and owners in Charlotte, and throughout North and South Carolina. They offer services such as project leasing, property and asset management, and investment property sales services. With a large number of office buildings in their portfolio having a SouthPark address they found it necessary to develop a brand for this group of buildings. Gladly accepting the opportunity, we became Trinity’s creative partner in this endeavor. It was our goal to develop a brand that would fit in its SouthPark environment without straying too far from the Trinity family tree. The new identity also needed to play well with various applications ranging from business systems to property leasing signage. Either way, it was our desire to give Trinity an identity that would allow them long term square footage in the SouthPark area.
National Neuro posterWalking again, grocery shopping for yourself, even sex after years of disability due to a stroke? Really? These were the stories coming out of National Nuero, one of the nation’s leading innovators in therapy for those recovering from the effects of neurological impairments. They provided hope through rehab and one-on-one relationships. They came to Bright Yellow Jacket a couple years ago with these stories and a desire to build a brand nationwide. We had the opportunity to become their marketing arm maintaining their brand across their clinics' various marketing initiatives so they could focus on providing hope.
Charlotte Reads Book Drive postersMore than 20 percent of adults read at or below a fifth-grade level, according to the National Institute for Literacy, Fast Facts on Literacy, 2001. It’s also estimated that the cost of illiteracy to business and the taxpayer is $20 billion per year, according to the United Way’s, “Illiteracy: A National Crisis.” So, when Charlotte Reads asked us to design an advertising and billboard campaign to create awareness of illiteracy and to promote reading, we jumped on it. Not only is it a good cause, it’s in our own (and your) best interest. Get Caught Reading!

Echota billboardRoughly translated it means place of refuge. Right in the center of Banner Elk, Boone and Blowing Rock in North Carolina lies a gem of a community with views of the Watauga River and Grandfather Mountain. In 2006, the developer, Foscoe Companies, engaged VanNoppen Marketing and Bright Yellow Jacket (then Oster Design Group) to develop a marketing campaign that positioned Echota as the place to live in the High Country. The result was a campaign focused on the intersection between luxury living and the height of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The Abbott signage Just outside Uptown Charlotte lies an urban community consisting of revived mills and warehouses from the mid 1800s. This area, known as Historic South End, is now filled with restaurants, shops, and many design-related industries. Tony Pressley, CEO of MECA Properties, AKA Godfather of South End, is responsible for branding and promoting this historic community. MECA continues to focus on the development of South End with projects like The Abbott. These innovative urban condos were named in honor of the vital developer F. C. Abbott in Charlotte during the early 1900’s. MECA approached Bright Yellow Jacket to provide advertising that would cause these condos to stand apart within the condo market in Charlotte. Our assignment was to produce a signage and direct mail campaign that would stand out in the busy urban community and attract potential condo owners. Are you looking for urban condos where you can live and work without the commute? Well, contact MECA today.
WaterRidge billboardNear Orlando, Florida sits a new, gated community surrounded by three beautiful lakes featuring a ridge with water views from almost every point on the property. Sharing a community with a variety of birds, fish and other wildlife, Water Ridge provides a place of restoration in the serenity of nature. In addition to a series of advertisements, the developers called on Bright Yellow Jacket to design and produce a number of billboards that stood out among the 888 billboards bombarding families driving south on I-4.
Elk Creek Mountain billboardWhat do you get when you bring together the collective talents of an artist, a developer and an entrepreneur in the grandeur of Western North Carolina? Elk Creek Mountain at Todd, of course. This 284-acre protected community, near Todd, North Carolina and the New River, offers wonderful amenities and peacefulness with only 97 homesites. From its beginnings, the visionaries behind Elk Creek Mountain hired VanNoppen Marketing and Bright Yellow Jacket (then Oster Design Group) to create a brand and presence in the market that would communicate the joys of owning a home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The result? We think you need to take a trip to Todd.
